Tentaco is built privacy-first. There are no accounts and no sign-up. Most tools run entirely in your browser — the data you paste or generate never leaves your device.

What we collect
We do not require personal data. There is no registration. Optional anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (e.g. popular tools) may be collected if analytics are enabled. Contents processed in local tools are not stored on our servers.
Local browser storage
Favourites, recent tools, text snippets, tool collections, theme settings and assistant history are stored in your browser’s localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB. This data stays on your device.
File exchange (optional)
If you use File exchange, you upload a file to our server to receive a temporary download link. We store the file name, size, MIME type and the file itself. Files are automatically deleted after at most 6 hours. We do not analyse file contents.
Optional cloud assistant
By default the Tentaco assistant runs fully locally — your questions never leave your device. If you enable cloud mode, we send your query to OpenAI (USA) for better answers. Only enable cloud if you agree. OPENAI_API_KEY belongs on the server only, never in the browser.
Cookies & analytics
We do not use advertising tracking cookies. Privacy-friendly analytics (e.g. Plausible, Google Analytics with IP anonymisation) may be enabled via environment variables only.
Your rights
You have rights under the GDPR (see our GDPR page). You can clear browser data yourself anytime. For server-stored files or other privacy requests: daniel.kuhlbarsch@outlook.de.
